Becky Kagan Schott

Professional Underwater Cinematographer

Becky is an Emmy Award-winning underwater cameraman, photographer, and technical diver whose work can be seen on major networks including National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and Animal Planet. She is co-owner of Liquid Productions, LLC, specializing in bringing back video from challenging aquatic environments. Her projects have taken her all over the globe from exploring virgin wrecks in over 300 feet of water in Japan and the Great lakes, rappelling into caves, filming under ice in the Bering Sea and even diving cage less with Great White sharks.

Becky is extremely passionate about sharing the underwater world with others whether it’s through her video or teaching someone to dive. In her spare time she’s participated in several exploration projects which earned her a place as a Fellow in the Explorers Club and in 2013 she was inducted into the Women Divers Hall of Fame.

Beauty and the Beasts

Becky will return in the evening to entertain us at the UMSAT Show evening banquet. Becky has over 19 years of dive experience logging thousands of hours underwater. Her experience working in remote locations around the world and facing the challenges of filming in extreme environments has earned her a reputation of producing quality images in challenging situations. Through her many experiences Becky has had the opportunity to dive with numerous species of sharks, a few of which include Whale Sharks, Lemon Sharks, Tiger Sharks, Reef Sharks, Hammerheads and Great Whites. For many of the encounters there were no cages, no chain-mail, only cameras to document the sharks. As an avid photojournalist, Becky will tell us stories of her efforts to photograph these amazing animals in their own environment. Please register to join us for a fine dinner and the wonderful opportunity to hear from this talented photographer and passionate shark diver!
