Brendon Baillod

Maritime Historian


Brendon Baillod is a Great Lakes maritime historian, researcher and archivist based in Wisconsin. He is the president of the Wisconsin Underwater Archeology Association, a director-at-large of the Association for Great Lakes Maritime History and a founder of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Research Foundation & Ghost Ships Festival. He has been featured on the History Channel and Discovery Channel, and was awarded the 2008 AGLMH Award for Historic Interpretation. He has one of the largest private collections of antiquarian Great Lakes books and ephemera in existence and is active in searching for and documenting historic Great Lakes shipwrecks. He has authored numerous publications, including Fathoms Deep but not Forgotten: Wisconsin's Lost Ships, a comprehensive guide to every ship lost or built in southeast Wisconsin.

Brendon will disclose the top ten findable wreck hunting targets on Lake Superior in order of mystique rather than size. Brendon will cover the mysterious history of each and provide a search grid based on the known clues.
